Detect, map & share trains - our new tool for LNER

Signalbox has delivered a hybrid version of its technology for London North Eastern Railway (LNER). The new application incorporates the best bits of our tool to detect, map and share trains in Great Britain.

Available at a custom URL, lner.signalbox.io, the latest version of Signalbox brings together - for the first time - our live train map, find my train tool and ETA sharing into one application. It’s a more user-friendly way of letting passengers access real-time information that’s personalised for their journey. It’s a first for the rail industry, built exclusively for LNER.

Signalbox for LNER

Signalbox powers a new application to serve personalised live data to LNER’s passengers on mobile and desktop.

The new version of Signalbox has been delivered for LNER as part of its Future Labs accelerator. During the 12-week programme, we’ve worked with people from LNER’s customer insights, data and tech teams to get under the skin of its passengers’ needs. The resulting tool is an important step for our technology - bringing separate elements together for a better user experience.

The tool uses our sophisticated network model to plot the location of trains across network rail. And it draws upon a proprietary machine-learning algorithm to identify a user’s train and serve up personalised real-time information.

You can access a beta version now at lner.signalbox.io and share your feedback. We’re working hard behind the scenes to improve performance and incorporate your suggestions.
